Quality Control Departmant

With the knowledge brought by 35 years, our laboratory within Geoteknik A.Þ. has entered among the Ministry of Public Works certified laboratories on 13.03.2007 with certification number 142 and has proven its quality by working in several great projects for 4 years. Below, we will be explaining the tests within the scope and the standards used in more details. In addition to laboratory tests, we are also carrying out field tests with success. Within this scope, the tests are carried out in various fields such as jet grout, bored pile, sheathing systems productions and controls, boring works, filling controls and mass movement measurements etc. In addition to this, we have brought our knowledge to the international platform in 2008 and works have been and continued to be carried out according to TSE, ASTM and BS standards within Iraq, Turkey, Geoteknik Libya, Geoteknik Azerbaijan and Geoteknik Middle East. Actually, quality control must be a part of our lives. We are effectively using or not using, but familiar with, the quality control tests in the following fields.

1. Soil investigation studies,
2. Bored pile production quality controls,
3. Measurements of dislocations which may occur in deed excavations and at landslide zones,
4. Jet grout production quality controls,
5. Filling controls,
6. Motorway works quality control tests,
7. Quality controls before and after dam and tunnel projects,
8. Solid waste facility quality control tests,
9. Stone pit aggregate possibility and rock quality controls.

1. Laboratory Studies
1-1. Soil Mechanics Tests
1-2. Rock Mechanics Tests

2. Field Studies
2-1. Tests Performed at Boring Works
2-2. Tests Performed for Boring Controls
2-3. Tests Performed for Controlling the Bored Pile Productions
2-4. Tests Performed for Controlling the Jet Grout Productions
2-5. Tests Performed at Sheathing (Deep Excavation) Works
2-6. Other Field Tests

2) Field tests

The data obtained from the field tests is very important for the preparation of the geological report or the controlling of the production carried out. The tests required to be available within this scope and their purpose are given in the table. The field tests are generally performed for the production controls. If it is required to separately evaluate the filling control, however, the following tests are performed.

• Standard or modified proctor compaction test in laboratory
• Sieve analysis
• Sand cone or nuclear density test at field
• Plate loading
• Land CBR

The Field and Laboratory Tests for Bored Piles:

• Pile loading test
• PIT test
• Tensile strength of irons used in productions

The Field and Laboratory Tests for Jet Grout Productions:

• Jet grout column loading test
• Jet grout tensile test
• PIT test
• Core strength of columns obtained in productions

Field Tests Performed at Boring Works:

• SPT test
• Pressuremeter test
• Vane test
• Pressurized water test
• Geophysical Vp, Vs wave velocity

Tests Performed Other Than Boring Works:

• CPT
• Plate loading
• Field CBR
• Sand cone
• Nuclear density
• Geophysical investigations (Seismic, resistivity, micro tromur etc.)
• Anchorage tensioning

The Tests Performed at Sheathing and Landslide Measurements:

• Inclinometer measurements
• Piezometer measurements
• Settlement column measurements
